COKES SURF VILLAS, THE MALDIVES (North Male)

 This surf camp situated on the capital island of the Maldives, Cokes (Also known as Thulusdhoo) is now open for bookings! Line Up Surf is proud to announce Cokes Island is now taking your bookings for the new surf season in a newly renovated guesthouse accommodation block right on the beach!

Cokes Island Surf Camp is one of the first budget surf travel destinations in The Maldives with a recent law change that allows budget travel to take place on local Maldivian Islands. Line Up is proud to partner a local Maldivian resident to bring our clients the best possible surfing holiday for surf travellers around the World! with an abundance of great waves, friendly people, delicious local foods. A surfing holiday in the Maldives has never been more affordable! Many of our guests are now staying up to a month in the Maldives at the cost of many 7 day packages offered by other resorts and boat Charters around the Maldives.

THE CAMP:

Cokes Island otherwise known as 'Thulusdhoo' is the manufacturer and distributor of Coca - Cola for the entire Maldives and Sri Lanka. It is also the first Coca - Cola manufacturer to use desalination technology to prepare our favourite black liquid delight!

The Accommodation:

Features a 5 room block with each room holding a maximum of 3 people per room. The rooms are air conditioned and all have ensuite with shower and toilet.

It also features a TV theatre room for guests to hang out and mingle after a solid days surfing out at Cokes or the surrounding breaks the Maldives has to offer! with 400+ channels on our satellite TV you will never get bored in between surfs.

This doesnt mean you cant enjoy other things outside the comfort of your room. With Snorkeling and Fishing a hugely popular activity not just with guests but locals also who will join you and show you the best reefs in the area! 

Dont be suprised if you see your fare share of Manta Rays or loggerhead turtles swimming around!

The Food:

All your meals are included in our 'Surfer Package'! with Curries, noodles, fried rice and seafood all a popular dish on the menu!

There are also cafes, souvenier shops all around the island if you feel like something different! Coca - Cola is also in every corner you look so you will never go thirsty!

Unfortunately Cokes Island Surf Camp does not allow the consumption or service of alcohol at all! Being a muslim country, alcohol is banned 100% and the penalties for trying to smuggle alcohol or drugs can be very severe with jail sentences! So please no alcohol!

The Surf:

Out the front of our accommodation is the well known 'Cokes' or 'Colas' surf break, A fast hollow right hander that is possibly one of the best waves in the North Male region if not the BEST!

You can paddle straight out to the break from our camp. Booties are recommended, however some choose not to wear them.

Cokes works best on mid-high tide, Westerly Wind and the swell direction at about 164 degrees. These conditions are normally more frequent than not, all season. However The Maldives being monsoonal conditions can change quite dramatically in the space of a few minutes! We ask our guests to be aware of this and if our surf guide indicates the conditions to be too dangerous, please take the experience and local knowledge of the guide into account and do what the guide says.

If conditions do not suite Cokes! across the bay is Chickens. A loooong left hander that on its day can go for 250 metres easily! It has a long wall and barrelling sections all the way down the line! The best thing about Chickens is it gets the most swell out of most the breaks in North Male, so on small days you can almost guarantee there will be fun waves out here! It is reccommended to hitch a ride to the break on our dinghy.

Cokes Surf Boat:

We have our own boat which will charter you to each break, but more often than not, if Cokes is good we dont use the boat as much, only for exploration if the waves at Cokes or Chickens aren't to good! This is also included in your package and your surf guide will take you elsewhere on request for a small charge of up to US$ 40 per person depending on weather conditions. We do not however use this boat for recreation e.g. TOW - INS or water skiing/Skurfing!
